A few of the common questions we get.

  • What is Digital Beans?

    Despite the use of the plural pronoun, Digital Beans is Jim Wallace, CPA. You only have to deal with the guy in charge, no assistants or underlings.

  • How do we charge?

    We typically charge hourly rates for ad hoc consulting and recurring accounting services. We have a one time "setup and training" rate of $400 for half day training and setup (enough for most do-it-yourselfers). Occasionally we develop a recurring monthly rate for clients when appropriate.

  • Is Digital Beans a CPA Firm?

    Because of the peculiarities of Virginia Board of Accountancy regulations, Digital Beans is not a CPA firm in the strict sense of the regulations. However, Jim Wallace IS a fully licensed CPA, we just don't do audits.

  • How do we work with clients?

    We try to meet our clients at their level of need and comfort, we won't try to sell you systems or services you either don't need or can do yourself. We try to develop long term relationships with our clients, as some have been with us for over 10 years. We want to be your partner as well as your trusted advisor.
